STAFF DEVELOPMENT FUND PILOT PROJECT

UPDATE - February 21, 2018

The Staff Development Fund Joint Committee met and passed the following addendum to the Guidelines:

Based on usage to January 31, 2018, for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year (February 1 to August 29, 2018) remaining funds in both the Individual and Group portions of the Staff Development Fund will be pooled, and then split evenly (50/50) between the two funds moving forward (notwithstanding clauses 4.1 and 5.1).

In addition, the following provision will take effect for the remaining application period (February 1 to August 29, 2018):

Any one applicant will not be able to apply (nor receive funding) for both Individual and Group funding for the same Professional Development opportunity. The only exception to this will be applications already received by January 31 2018.

AT THIS TIME ALL FUNDING HAS BEEN ALLOCATED FOR THE 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR. A waiting list will be created and if any funding becomes available, members on the list will be contacted. 

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED APPROVAL FOR FUNDING AND ARE UNABLE TO USE IT, PLEASE LET US KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO WE CAN OFFER IT TO THE NEXT PERSON ON THE WAITING LIST.

Guidelines and applications for the 2018-19 school year should be available in late June 2018. Applications for funding to attend PD activities within the first two weeks of September 2018 will be reviewed prior to June 30th as the office closes for the summer break.

UPDATE - February 1, 2018

The Staff Development Fund Individual Funding has been completely allocated for the 2017-18 school year. There is currently $147,452.89 available in group funding. Please see the Guidelines for how to apply for Group funding.

UPDATE - November 7, 2017

The Memorandum of Agreement was approved by our members at the September 27, 2017 General Assembly. The joint committee met on October 30th to review the guidelines and forms. The new forms are now finalized and available below.

Highlighted changes to the guidelines are:
1. The Fund eligibility will reset for 2017/18, so if you accessed the Fund last year you are eligible for maximum funding this year.
2. The Individual funding maximum has increased to $1,500 (from $1,000) to be used over two years (2017/18 & 2018/19).
3. The Group funding maximum has increased to $1,000 per member to a group maximum of $5,000 annually.

Application Checklist

Ensure you have read the guidelines prior to completing the application forms. Incomplete application forms will not be processed until all of the required information is received.
