Well Behaved Books (Seldom make history) - September 25, 2025 

In schools, books are being challenged and banned at an unprecedented rate in the United States and now Canada. Even when the books being challenged have not been read! This book club will not be traditional, where there is an assigned book we need to read before attending and discuss together. Instead, please bring a book from the recently posted 'materials with explicit content" list that you love and a reason why you enjoyed it or why the book is important to keep in schools. If you do not have a book to bring, that is okay! Everyone is welcome to come and participate in the discussion about books others love! A few light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. Maternity/Adoption Information Sessions via ZOOM

Expecting? Adopting? Plan to attend one of the virtual maternity/adoption information sessions offered by the Local. The sessions begin at 5:00 pm.

New Teacher Welcome - October 28, 2025

Are you a new teacher? Do you wonder what the Local has to offer? Join us for the New Teacher Welcome at the Highlands Golf and Country Club. Meet the Local President and members of the Executive Committee and hear what services the Local has to offer. Have a refreshment, some snacks and meet some other new teachers!! Register HERE.

New Teacher Induction Ceremony - October 29, 2025

Are you new to the profession or the Local or you've been teaching a while but were not formally inducted? Plan to join us for a formal welcoming ceremony on Wednesday, October 29th at 7:00 pm. Each Inductee may invite up to two guests for the ceremony and tickets are available on Eventbrite HERE. We look forward to welcoming you into the profession, and the ATA at this event.
