Did you know that there are two teacher-directed PD days each year? In the 2025-26 school year they are January 28, 2026 and March 20, 2026.
Observe a Colleague
The Observe a Colleague program will continue for the 2025/26 school year. Only two members can access the program at a time. Observation days can only occur on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Please read the Guidelines HERE. Applications, via Google form, can be accessed HERE.
The Vision Behind the Struggle: Identifying and Supporting Students with Hidden Visual Challenges - Mar 20, 2026
When students struggle with reading, focus, or efficiency, the issue may not be motivation or behaviour—it may be vision.
This session introduces educators to Binocular Vision Dysfunction and related visual processing disorders that often go undetected. Participants will learn to identify warning signs, understand when to refer for assessment (including post-concussion concerns), and apply practical classroom accommodations to support student success.
Talking Rock Tour: Elk Island - Mar 20, 2026
Welcome to Elk Island National Park : One of Canada’s smallest national parks, located in the Beaver Hills Biosphere, a UNESCO-designated biosphere (since 2016). Geo-Adventure Experience : Begin at Moss Lake Trailhead and explore glacial sandy hills, wetlands, boreal forest, beaver dams, native grasslands, and plains bison habitat. Cultural Learning & Details: Opening circle, interactive wildlife learning table (beaver, buffalo, elk, muskrat), and a respectful tobacco offering. Bus transportation is provided from Barnett House (departing 9:30 AM; leaving the park at 3:00 PM). Snacks will be provided. Cost is $10. Register HERE.
