Background

The Framework Agreement is an agreement between the Government of Alberta, the Alberta Teachers' Association (ATA), and the Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA). Each school district is required to form a C2 Committee (C2 stands for Section 2 of the Framework). The committee is designed to review what jurisdiction-initiated tasks or policies can be eliminated or modified to reduce teacher workload and improve teacher efficacy. The Edmonton Public Schools' committee is comprised of representatives from the District, Edmonton Public Teachers Local No. 37 and a facilitator from Alberta Education.

Information will be gathered from:
--teachers, facilitated in each school by the school's ATA Council of School Representatives (CSR) representative and the principal;
--principals, in group sessions; and
--teachers who work in Central Services and covered by the teachers' Collective Agreement.

Ongoing information will be shared as it becomes available and will be posted on the Human Resources website at http://hr.epsb.ca/C2Committee.htm. (Note: you must log in to Staff Zone to view the information.)
